Where Are You From? Symposium

A recent symposium titled Where Are You From?: A Symposium on Immigration, Mobility and Citizenship took place at Wake Forest University on March 29 and 30.  The symposium explored many of the themes of the Where Are You From? Project.

The symposium was sponsored by the Wake Forest University American Ethnic Studies, the Provost’s Fund for Academic Innovation, the Institute for Public Engagement, the Provost Office of Global Affairs, the Department of Communication, Women and Gender Studies, and students in Alessandra Von Burg’s ‘Practices of Citizenship’ class.

The Symposium featured keynote addresses by Anne Demo, Syracuse University, and Brad Vivian, Syracuse University, as well as a workshop by special guest researcher and activist Angela Kocze, European Central University, Hungary.
